"Are you gesturing at something? I can't see whether you're gesturing. Are you using gestures? What gestures are you using? Are your gestures stuck in a well?"
"That's exactly what I'm talking about!"
"What, gestures being in wells? That's absurd."
"No, I mean the fact that you can't see what I'm gesturing at. That's what I'm talking about!"
"Let me get this straight: you want to know what this is, but this is your inability to indicate what this is? Meaning your inability itself is the thing you want to know about?"
"Yes!"
"I don't get it."
"Okay, look. Do you see what I'm holding up?"
"No."
"I'm literally standing right in front of you, holding it directly in front of your face."
"I don't see it."
"Right. So why not? Why can you not see the thing I'm holding up in front of your face?"
"I don't know. Is it something invisible?"
"It's my hand!"
"Your hand is invisible!?"
"What? No!"
"How did you do that? Can you show me how to make my hand invisible? That's awesome!"
"My hand is not invisible! See? It's right here!"
"Well yeah, now that you've pointed it out I can see it just fine. Palm's a little hairy."
"What? I thought that was a myt- never mind. The point is you shouldn't need me to point it out before you can see it. It's my hand. You should be able to just see it."
"I'm with you so far."
"Good. So why couldn't you see my hand before I pointed it out?"
"Well what else were you going to point with, you ear?"
"That's not the... That's not what I'm saying."
"Then you should really be more clear, because I haven't got the slightest clue what you're talking about."
"Okay. I'm holding this up. It's right in front of your face. Can you see it?"
"Can I see what?"
"Can you see this thing I'm holding in front of your face."
"I don't see anything."
"It's right here. I'm waving it around in front of your face. You don't see it?"
"Is it a cat?"
"No, it's not a cat."
"Are you sure it's not a cat?"
"Yes, I'm sure I'm not waving a cat in front of your face."
"I think it should be a cat."
"Well, it's not. It's a piece of paper."
"Well yeah, obviously I see the piece of paper. You're waving it in front of my face."
"But you didn't see it until I told you what it was."
"See, what you're saying sounds like the truth, but it sounds really stupid coming out of your mouth for some reason."
"That's because it doesn't make any sense. How can you not see something until it's described to you?"
"Please, I can see lots of things. Like that tree, and that rock, and you, and that-"
"What colour are my eyes?"
"What?"

"Don't you know?"
"I do know. I want to know if you know."
"Of course I know, I'm looking right at them."
"Great. So what colour are they?"
"They're ... Oh my God you're blind!"
"No you idiot, I'm not blind, I can see perfectly well. And I have perfectly normal eyes."
"But there's no colour in them!"
"My eyes are perfectly normal. But unless I tell you what colour they are, you aren't going to know."
"Okay that's messed up."
"That's what I'm talking about."
"This is freaking me out, man. Why would you draw my attention to this?"
"I think this needs attention. I think it demands it."
"Okay. So, what, we can only see things if we talk about them?"
"That's how it seems."
"I don't understand how that can even be a thing."
"I know. It's as if things just don't exist unless we say them out loud."
"It's a shame my wife Jennifer Lawrence isn't here to help us out with this."

"No."
